Love Essentially – Create your Unique and Personal Valentine Gifts
Love is essential for our well-being; both giving and receiving love and affection. February is known as the month of love, particularly for partners. This means that many couples will be doing something to celebrate Valentines Day, the most popular act will be that of buying flowers to show their affection.
The expression of our love and affection is important for strong relationships, but don’t forget yourself, whether in a relationship or not. Essential oils lend themselves to the creation of very unique and personal shows of affection.
Why not create something special for yourself or you and your partner. It is something I started doing for over 20 years. I bought my first blend for my boyfriend from Neils Yards, I think it was a Zodiac blend. I suggested he used it in his bath, which he did. That was how I got into blends.
Below I have given you a few recipes you can use to create a unique body lotion for that special person in your life, male or female (or yourself). The process given is simple. I do, of course suggest you use our body lotion (a complex of coconut and grapeseed), but the important thing is that you use a natural lotion base.
Below I have given you a choice of two blends for males and for females. That said, feel free to experiment with quantities or other oils. Ultimately your blend will be unique. Give your blend a special name. If you are making something for yourself why not call it something simple like “Love”. I like to give blends names like “Loving touch” or “My Beloved” because then I can say things like, “Each day my life has a loving touch” or I imagine that when my partner is asked what fragrance he is wearing, he will say something like “My Beloved” I think you get my meaning. Perhaps you like the thought that your partner is coated in a fragrance of your own making each time they leave the home. Call me a romantic.
I am suggesting that you use the blends in a body lotion, but don’t forget that the blends can also be used in a diffuser or in a carrier oil for massage purposes, you can choose how you want to create a mood of romance and intimacy. Choose you oils carefully as some oils are known for their aphrodisiac qualities. It goes without saying that you get the natural therapeutic effects when you use good quality (Naturra) essential oils.
The process is this.
First you will blend the essential oils, then you will leave them to stand for a day to then test and adapt until you are satisfied with the blend.
You will then make up the blend to the quantity you want, and finally you will add the essential oil blend to your lotion base.
I would suggest you obtain a 100ml plastic bottle with a pump cap. We recommend 2-3% of essential oils to our body lotion base. For 100ml bottle essentials needed 2ml – 3ml.
